Great time to be an educator

I am and will always be a teacher. Whether designing classes, doing administrative work, teaching face to face or online, I am an educator. Part of my job is to problem solve creatively and that creativity in the long ago past was not always been appreciated. Throughout the years some have found my interest in technology as a tool for learning alarming. But times are changing. Things I had to fight for like using YouTube and teaching students to be responsible digital citizens rather than blocking the on the web are now standard practice.

Being able to work with interested and creative teachers enlivens me. When a new class begins I always grow a little more as an educator. Collaboration and communication with other teachers is such a great way to be a life-long learner.

The teachers who take my online classes are often inspirational. They take the simplest idea and turn it into a unique learning opportunity for their students. When given choices they go the extra mile to create lessons that are important. That is the model, one of choice and creation, they come to understand and carry forward.

This blog is for me. It serves as a reminder of the excellence of those I am privileged to learn with. But it is also for those whom I have taught. After all publishing of important work is another goal of 21 Century learners.  And this blog is a place to share and publish your ideas.

With that important idea in mind, can we continue our together. Will you please share ideas and lessons that started in my class and became a success in your own classroom.

Best Wishes Always,
Carole
